QCAN has been funded by the Queensland Government to deliver the Positive Behaviour Guidance Coaching Program until the 30th of June 2028.

This statewide initiative is designed to support small Approved Providers and their educators to strengthen their understanding and response to children’s behaviour using evidence-based strategies.

The program includes:

  • 3 x 2-hour interactive workshops for your whole team

o   Session 1: The Foundations of Behaviour – Explore children’s rights, child safe environments, relationship building, legal and ethical principles, and the importance of critical reflection. This session helps educators reshape their understanding of why behaviour occurs, creating the foundation for proactive approaches to supporting children.

o   Session 2: The Neuroscience of Behaviour – Gain insights into brain development, stress responses, emotional regulation, and the environmental factors that influence behaviour. Practical strategies and guided reflection on educators’ own responses will help strengthen behaviour support approaches.

o   Session 3: Inclusive Practice – Trauma-Informed and Neurodiversity-Affirming Care – Develop a deeper understanding of neurodivergence and the impact of trauma. Learn how to implement trauma-informed strategies, apply reasonable adjustments, and adopt strengths-based approaches to support planning,  to create inclusive environments all children.

  • Observation of practice in your service setting

  • Coaching to help leadership and educators apply new strategies with confidence

  • A Community of Practice for service leaders upon completion of the training to share learnings, network, and continue professional growth

This is a unique opportunity to build your team’s capacity to support children’s wellbeing and inclusion while enhancing practice across your service.
