Manager – Ironside OSHC

 

The Ironside State School P&C Association is seeking a full-time Manager to be responsible for the day to day operations of their Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service which offers before school, after school and vacation care. As a large (195 after school care places) and dynamic service, the P&C is seeking a person who has high-level management skills and ability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is business orientated and community-minded who has the ability to work autonomously. Applicants must be dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for primary school age children. The ideal candidate will oversee the design and implementation of engaging programs that encourage and support positive outcomes for all children aligned to ‘My Time, Our Place’ Framework for School Age Care.

 

As the declared Nominated Supervisor, this role encompasses many aspects, including the day to day operations of the service, administration, human resource management, compliance management including policies and procedures, risk minimization, quality improvement planning, family and community engagement, administration, management of financial matters within P&C approved budgets, liaising with key stakeholders and effective, regular reporting to the P&C.

 

Selection criteria

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Director/Coordinator or equivalent position, with a strong preference for experience operating a large community-owned OSHC service

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be across all facets of the service.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain supportive and trusting relationships with children and families

  • A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively facilitate teamwork, conflict resolution and support the development of others

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee program planning including design, delivery and evaluation

  • Demonstrated ability to drive quality improvement and business outcomes

 

Applicants must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Legislation relating to Education and Care Services, National Quality Standards and Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

 

To be successful in this role you must hold:

  • A minimum Diploma of Children’s Services or relevant higher qualification

  • Working with Children Check – Blue Card

  • Senior first aid including CPR, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis training

 

Hours, Conditions & Award:

This is a Full-Time position with 38 hours per week. Remuneration will be as per the Parents and Citizens Associations Award – State 2016 – level 7, with consideration given to paying above award where the candidates experience and qualifications justify this.

Kenmore South State School OSHC - Educator

Outside School Hours Care is looking for a number of enthusiastic Educators to join our dedicated Before and After School Care and Vacation Care team located in the Kenmore area. Our large service is expanding rapidly and interviews will commence Friday 21st February and Thursday 27th February. These are casual roles with the possibility of transitioning to permanent part-time offering up to 25 hours per week. These positions will commence ASAP.

Your Role

You will be responsible for meeting the following key objectives:

  • Actively supervising, interacting and engaging with children.

  • Providing learning opportunities for children through the use of intentional teaching and encouraging spontaneous learning in line with the Framework for School Age Care Children, My Time, Our Place.

  • Contributing to the planning by evaluating children's interactions during play.

  • Greeting families and communicating with children as well as their parents to enhance well- established partnerships between families and the Service, and to develop new partnerships with future families in a highly professional manner.

 

Your Application

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Current Blue Card and Criminal check are essential 

  • Current First Aid Certificate 004

  • Emergency Management of Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certificates.

  • A positive attitude to support and encourage children and fellow Educators with a creative streak and an energetic, enthusiastic personality, excellent planning, organisational, decision making and problem solving skills with an ability to improvise.

  • A Diploma in Children's Services or a Certificate III in Children's Services or enrolled and working towards completion of a  Certificate III, Diploma or relevant Tertiary Degree relating to childcare or teaching

 

 In Addition the following is desirable though not essential

  • Relevant experience with children and a working knowledge of the National Quality Framework including the 'My Time, Our Place' –Framework for School Age Care in Australia.

Wellers Hill School Age Care Service (SACCS) | Seeking Experienced Assistant Coordinator

  

The Wellers Hill State School P&C Association are seeking an experienced Assistant Coordinator to support the management of their 300 place OSHC service which offers before, after and vacation care. The successful applicant will be dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for primary school age children and will oversee all aspects of the services’ management.

 

As a Responsible Person, this role encompasses many responsibilities, including stepping into the day to day operations of the service, administration, human resource support, compliance management including policies and procedures, risk minimisation, quality improvement planning, family and community engagement, computing, management of financial matters within P & C approved budgets, liaising with key stakeholders and effective, regular reporting to the P & C.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Building and maintaining supportive and trusting relationships with children and families

  • Strong business management, accountability, finance and compliance capability

  • Effective leadership, teamwork facilitation, staff management/development and stakeholder engagement

  • Highly skilled in communication, conflict resolution and change management

  • Supporting the Educational Leader, and educators in the oversight of program planning including design, delivery and evaluation.

  • Supporting the Coordinator in the day to day running of the service.

Kelvin Grove State College OSHC is seeking experienced educators. We are a large sized service which is licensed for 170 children. We provide before school care, after school care, vacation care and care on pupil free days. Educator Responsibilities

  • Educating and caring for primary school aged children

  • Ensuring children are provided learning opportunities to reach their full potential following the program provided by our Educational Leader

  • Developing strong relationships with the school community

  • Ensure a clean and healthy environment for all children (this requires you to do every day cleaning as part of your duties)

  • Perform incidental administrative duties (filling out accident/incident reports when necessary)

Educator Requirements

  • Completed Certificate III or studying towards Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent qualification

  • Experience in working with primary school aged children

  • Paid Blue Card or willing to obtain

  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification or willing to obtain

  • Availability Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00am - 9.00am and 2:30pm - 6:00pm for Before and After School Care and for Vacation Care from Monday to Friday between 7:00am - 6:00pm (Must be available a minimum of 3 afternoons per week)

Wondall Outside School Hours Care is seeking educators who are qualified, well-organised, motivated and responsive to join its energetic and passionate team, offering both Before School Hours Care, After School Hours Care, and Vacation Care.

Job Description

A majority of your time spent whilst employed as an educator at Wondall OSHC will consist of effectively supervising children whilst they engage in our daily program, contributing and supporting the planning and programming of our daily activities - incorporating a variety of activities. This we will require you to be energetic, have a key eye for detail, and most importantly be consistently reliable. It is expected that you will be willing/able to contribute to the daily cleaning duties in which will require you to be thorough and efficient.

 

For this role

We would love to hear from people who have had experience/qualificationin educational related setting, and the successful candidate will need:

  • Minimum of Certificate III in Children’s Services

  • 1 year or more of experiences working in a child related setting/service

  • Available to work between the times of 6am-10.30am; 2-6pm weekly during a school term; and between 6am-6pm during school holiday periods.

  • Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place

  • Able to implement and follow set policy and procedures

  • Hold a current suitability card (Blue Card)

  • First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis, Asthma qualifications or willing to obtain
