General Manager - Stafford Heights P&C Association  
Part-time I 6-month fixed-term contract (with possible extension)

The Stafford Heights State School P&C Association is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the strategic, operational, financial and compliance functions across our key business units, including Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and the School Tuckshop. 


This senior leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a values-driven environment, enjoys shaping high-quality services for children and families, and brings strong organisational, people and business management capability. 


Candidates must have:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of senior management experience. Essential OSHC (Outside School Hours Care) operational experience is required

  • A Bachelor's degree qualification is required for this position. 

  • Essential experience in education sector or school environments is required. 

  • A Working with Children Check is required before starting in this position

 

About the Role 
The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance, sustainability and quality of the P&C's operations. You will lead strategic planning, drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with all regulatory frameworks, and foster a positive, collaborative culture across the organisation. 


You will work closely with the P&C Executive and directly supervise the OSHC Manager and Tuckshop Manager to ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with the National Quality Framework, Smart Choices Guidelines and all relevant legislation. 

Key Responsibilities 
Strategic Leadership & Governance 

•    Lead organisational strategy, planning and performance monitoring.
•    Drive innovation, continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
•    Represent the organisation at sector forums, networks and community events.
•    Monitor emerging trends in OSHC, education and food services to inform decision-making.

Operational Management 

OSHC 

  • Ensure full compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law & Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

  •  Oversee curriculum planning, educational programs and the Quality Improvement Plan.

  • Support trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour guidance and inclusive service delivery.

  • Maintain accurate records, reporting and regulatory documentation.

Tuckshop

•    Oversee daily operations in line with Smart Choices Guidelines and Food Safety requirements.
•    Lead menu development, ordering systems and customer experience improvements.
•    Ensure compliance, documentation and quality assurance processes are maintained.

​Financial Management 

•    Prepare and manage budgets, financial reporting and forecasting.
•    Monitor expenditure, revenue, utilisation and purchasing to ensure sustainability.
•    Oversee CCS administration, fee processes and financial record-keeping.
•    Identify opportunities for growth, efficiency and improved financial performance.​

Stakeholder Engagement & Community Partnerships 

•    Build strong relationships with families, school leadership, staff and community partners.
•    Lead communication, engagement and complaint-resolution processes.
•    Promote a welcoming, inclusive and culturally safe environment for all.

Child Safety, Wellbeing & WHS 

•    Champion child safe practices aligned with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
•    Ensure mandatory reporting, risk management and staff training requirements are met.
•    Oversee WHS systems, emergency procedures and incident management.

Human Resources & People Leadership 

•    Lead recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and performance management.
•    Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, Fair Work legislation and qualification requirements.
•    Support staff well being, professional development and reflective practice.
•    Maintain accurate HR records and manage volunteer/student placement programs.

Administration, Technology & Information Management 

•    Oversee digital systems for enrolments, attendance, CCS, communication and financial administration.
•    Ensure data privacy, security and compliance with record-keeping requirements.
•    Manage procurement, assets, equipment and technology infrastructure.
•    Maintain the organisation's website and digital presence.

OSHC Assistant Coordinator Palmwoods Kids Club

Part time 30 hours per week | ​$40.41 per hour

Palmwoods State School  P&C Association are committed to providing children with quality learning and leisure-based opportunities delivered in a safe, secure and stimulating environment, while aspiring to deliver the highest standard of care. All our endeavours support the values and mission of Palmwoods State School, benefiting the educational experience of all students. 

Our OSHC is owned and operated by the Palmwoods State School  P&C Association. 

The service operates from a purpose-built OSHC facility with close proximity to the hall, large playgrounds and other school facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to have a positive impact on the operations of a high-quality service.

 

The Roles

We believe each member of the team contributes equally to the quality of the service and that a strong, knowledgeable leadership team is essential.  This role is crucial to the development of educators and the centre's commitment to high quality care under the National Quality Framework. This role includes mentoring educators on both the National Quality Standards and My Time Our Place framework and to support the leadership team in all aspects of the service including, but not limited to; 

  • supporting the Educational Leader to lead and inspire educators, and supporting the planning and delivery of programs with a high level of student and family input

  • working closely with Educators to provide safe and exciting learning environments and activities to meet the needs of school-aged children

  • supporting educators to assess learning and effectively reflect across all 7 Quality Areas

  • communicating openly, honestly and with accuracy to all members of the OSHC community

  • completion of checklists and audits to ensure a safe and healthy environment

  • adhering to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, laws and regulations.

  • ensuring a risk management approach to safety is implemented

  • preparing and serving healthy meals

  • maintaining a high standard of health and hygiene

  • supervising children both at the service and on excursions

  • administrative work using CCMS approved OWNA software, including electronic sign in and the booking App.

  • work alongside the leadership team to achieve best outcomes

Skills and Experience

Our Assistant Coordinator must demonstrate:

  • a positive outlook to life and a problem-solving approach to success

  • commitment to outstanding customer service

  • previous leadership/management experience as an Assistant Coordinator, Educational Leader or 2IC for a minimum of 2 years

  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • a strong understanding of child development and a positive approach to guiding children’s behaviour

  • an understanding of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place learning framework

  • a commitment to embedding the National Child Safe Principles and Universal Principle

  • the ability to support and mentor other Educators to be their best

  • working in a team environment

  • ACECQA approved qualifications for working in OSHC (Minimum Diploma Qual)

  • Positive Notice Blue Card, First Aid, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis qualifications

  • excellent computer skills

  • strong time management and demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks

  • proficient in CCMS software
