Kelvin Grove OSHC - Coordinator (Maternity Leave Contract)

4-month Maternity Leave Contract (possible extension) – commencing 06 October 2020

 

Description:                

The Kelvin Grove State College P&C Association is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Coordinator to join and lead their OSHC service including before, after and vacation care. The Service is currently licensed for 170 children and has a large team of approximately 30 educators. The successful applicant will be committed to creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for primary school aged children and will oversee activity programs that encourage and support positive outcomes for all children with regard to the ‘My Time Our Place’ Framework for school age care.

 

As the declared Nominated Supervisor, this role encompasses many aspects including the day to day operations of the service, administration, human resource management, compliance management including policies and procedures, risk minimisation, quality improvement planning, family and community engagement, computing, management of financial matters within P&C approved budgets, liaising with key stakeholders, and effective, regular reporting to the P&C.

 

The successful candidate will be able to take the service to the next level as we continue to grow in numbers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of a high quality, inclusive and educational program

  • Manage day to day operations of the service including staffing, administration and financial management tasks

  • Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment

  • Work collaboratively within an established team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families

  • Be skilled in communication and conflict resolution

  • Have strong relationship management skills and the ability to build sound networks in the school and community

 

Key Selection Criteria:

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role, or experience leading others

  • Applicants must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Legislation relating to Education and Care Services, National Quality Standards and Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

  • Effective computer skills in childcare management systems (preferably QikKids, including Qikkids Enrol and My Family Lounge)

  • Experience in managing and developing a large team of staff in an outside school hours care environment or similar

 

To be successful in this role you must hold:

  • Diploma of Children Services or Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent/higher qualification)

  • A current Working with Children ‘Blue Card’

  • HLTAID004 ‘Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting’ certification

 

Hours/Conditions/Award:

This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week. Contact hours will be as per the service operating hours with additional hours to be worked as non-contact and negotiable between 7am and 6pm. Remuneration will be as per the P&C Award based on qualifications and experience.

Yarranlea Primary School OSHCEducator/Responsible Person

Yarranlea Primary Schools is looking for a Fully Qualified passionate and exceptional OSHC Educator/RP to join our unique Outside School Hours Care Facility based at Mt Gravatt. Licenced for just 30 children we intend to remain a small, caring, community focussed service. This hands-on role provides the opportunity to assist in the management of a small service whilst also caring for and creating a wonderful and engaging environment for the children.

This is a casual position with the future possibility of a permanent/part-time role.

About you

  • You are: Qualified with a Diploma in Childcare and at least 3 years proven work in a similar position.

  • You must enjoy working with Prep to Year 6 children and be open, spontaneous and instinctual with children’s play, follow policies and procedures, understand and have a working knowledge of the NQF, reporting and all other necessary Outside School Hours Care legislative requirements.

  • Reliability, punctuality, being flexible, well presented and passionate about   children’s play within a safe, caring and community minded environment is paramount. Cleaning and food handling duties will be part of your daily routine. 

  • You will need to have full availability Mon to Fri for Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care periods and be able to work split shifts.

To be successful in this role you must hold

A current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and

Working with Children Blue Card is a must.

This is a casual position over 5 days with split shifts, which may lead to a permanent part time role in the future. Remuneration is as per current award rates.

Ironside OSHC - Educators

We are looking for Fully Qualified and exceptional OSHC Educators to join our busy Outside School Hours Care Facility based at Ironside State School.

About you

Qualified with a minimum of Cert 3 in Childcare and at least 1 years proven work in a similar position or studying Cert 3 within the industry. Diploma qualification will be most advantageous.

You must enjoy working with Prep to Year 6 children and have experience in programming, learning stories, hygiene, cleaning, setting up and packing away materials and a working knowledge of the NQF, reporting and all other necessary Outside School Hours Care legislative requirements.

Reliability, punctual, well presented and passionate about the safety of children is paramount. Cleaning and food handling duties will be part of your daily routine. 

You will need to have full availability Mon to Fri for Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care periods and be able to work split shifts.

To be successful in this role you must hold

A current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and Working with Children Blue Card is a must.

Hours/Conditions/Award

This is a casual position over 5 days with split shifts, which may lead to part time status once your probation period has expired.

Remuneration as per current P&C award rates.

Wellers Hill School Age Care Service (SACCS) | Seeking Experienced Assistant Coordinator

  

The Wellers Hill State School P&C Association are seeking an experienced Assistant Coordinator to support the management of their 300 place OSHC service which offers before, after and vacation care. The successful applicant will be dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for primary school age children and will oversee all aspects of the services’ management.

 

As a Responsible Person, this role encompasses many responsibilities, including stepping into the day to day operations of the service, administration, human resource support, compliance management including policies and procedures, risk minimisation, quality improvement planning, family and community engagement, computing, management of financial matters within P & C approved budgets, liaising with key stakeholders and effective, regular reporting to the P & C.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Building and maintaining supportive and trusting relationships with children and families

  • Strong business management, accountability, finance and compliance capability

  • Effective leadership, teamwork facilitation, staff management/development and stakeholder engagement

  • Highly skilled in communication, conflict resolution and change management

  • Supporting the Educational Leader, and educators in the oversight of program planning including design, delivery and evaluation.

  • Supporting the Coordinator in the day to day running of the service.

 

Applicants must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Legislation relating to Education and Care Services, the National Quality Standard and Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

To be successful in this role you must hold:

  • A minimum Diploma of Children’s Services or relevant higher qualification

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role (preferably within a P&C operation)

  • Working with Children Check – Blue Card

  • Senior first aid, CPR, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis training

  • PRODA and probity checks as required for Australian Government

 

Hours/Conditions/Award:

This is a permanent/part time position with 38 hours per week. The majority of hours will be (out of ratio), though the Assistant Coordinator will be required to be present during negotiated operating hours. 

 

Remuneration and Conditions of employment will be as per the Parents and Citizens Associations Award – State 2016.
