Job description:

Bulimba State School Outside School Hours Care is seeking passionate and enthusiastic, professional child care educators to join our dynamic team for a variety of shifts. Applicants please note that we require availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Our large service is licensed to care for 255 children and highly regarded as a "service of choice" in Brisbane. We have been rated as Exceeding all seven Quality Areas in the National Quality Standards.

Your role will include planning and delivery of fun and active programs for primary school aged children.

To be successful, you will need:

Be available to work a variety of morning and afternoon shifts Monday to Friday, specifically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons;

Hold a current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificate or willingness to obtain;

A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).

Hours of work are varied:

6.30am - 9.00am Before School Care

2.00pm - 6.00pm - After School Care

Various shifts between 6:30am-6:00pm during vacation care

Maximum working hours could be up to 30 hours per week

Cranbrook State School P&C OSHC - OSHC Coordinator

The Cranbrook State School P & C Association is seeking a Coordinator for their Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) which offers before and after school care as well as vacation care programs.

Our centre is licenced for 120 enrolments.  The role will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the OSHC centre.  The preferred candidate will have the confidence, ability and experience to manage the service, staff and family interactions and fulfil all duties required to run the OSHC centre efficiently.


Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience working with school aged children

  • Proven ability to plan, implement and evaluate education programs that align with the National Quality Framework: My Time Our Place

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Be computer literate – experience with MyXplor an advantage

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Organisation skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, the school community as well as children and families

Essential requirements

  • Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent qualifications as per ACECQA requirements for OSHC

  • Current Working with Children’s check clearance (BlueCard) and an accredited child protection certificate

  • Current First Aid certificates including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma

Kelvin Grove OSHC - Educational Leader/Responsible Person

Brief Description

The Kelvin Grove State College OSHC is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Educational Leader to oversee the development of the Educational Program, in line with the ‘My Time Our Place’ Framework. This position is part of a job share arrangement, working closely with one other Educational Leader. As such, you will have the opportunity to shape the service program and practice, with the guidance and support of a large management structure. The successful applicant would be willing to step into a Responsible Person role as required. This role would be a great opportunity for a seasoned OSHC Educator to step up into the role or Educational Leader seeking advancement into a specialist position.

We provide before school, after school, vacation care and care on pupil free days. Key Selection Criteria

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role, or experience leading others

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a quality play-based education and care program

  • Strong interpersonal skills, being able to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to develop others knowledge

  • Demonstrated experience working in large teams and providing ongoing opportunities for learning as well as providing intentional feedback and support

  • The ability to critically assess and evaluate plans and experiences against desired outcomes to drive the practices of the service

  • A high degree of professionalism and the capacity to work with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of the Legislation relating to Education and Care Services, National Quality Standards and Child Care Subsidy (CCS)


To be successful in this role you must hold

  • Diploma of Children Services or Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent/higher qualification)

  • A current Working with Children ‘Blue Card’

  • HLTAID004 ‘Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting’ certification

  • Favourable: Prior experience in a management position, with an understanding of the Child Care Subsidy system, and using Qikkids



This is a permanent part time position of 25-30 hours per week. Contact hours will be as per the service operating hours with additional hours to be worked as non-contact and negotiable between 7am and 6pm. Remuneration will be as per the P&C Award based on qualifications and experience.
