Everton Park OSHC - Service Manager

The Everton Park State School P&C are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Service Manager to lead our OSHC service including before, after and vacation care. Do you have the knowledge of effective business, budgeting, and management skills? Do you have the ability, to further develop a team of skilled and enthusiastic educators through effective leadership and great communication skills and strengthen and guide our management team? The successful applicant will be committed to create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all our students and want to become part of our welcoming community. 

The Everton Park State School P&C Association OSHC is located inside the Everton Park State School grounds and is operated independently by Everton Park SS P&C Association (P&C executives) who are the Approved Provider with full management control, the service is licensed for 150 children. We have our own OSHC building and office and access to other areas in the school.

As the declared, Nominated Supervisor, this role encompasses many aspects including overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, administration, human resource management, compliance management including policies and procedures, risk minimisation, quality improvement planning, family and community engagement, computing, management of financial matters within P&C approved budgets, liaising with key stakeholders, and effective, regular reporting to the P&C. 

The successful applicant with be able to work with the P&C to ensure the strategic direction of the service continues and the service is taken to the next level. You will oversee staff to deliver Educational Programs that encourage and support positive outcomes for all children regarding the ‘My Time Our Place’ Learning Framework for school age care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively and further grow the management team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families. 

  • Ability to oversee the implementation of high quality, innovative, inclusive, developmentally appropriate educational programs in school age care, ensuring the inclusion of children and families in this process. 

  • Manage the staff who oversee the day-to-day operations of the service including staffing, administration, and financial management tasks. 

  • Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming, and nurturing environment. 

  • Have skills in communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution. 

  • Have strong relationship management skills and the ability to build sound networks within the school and wider community.

  • Assist the P&C with the management of the other business units (Tuckshop/Uniform Shop)

Key Selection Criteria

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role, 

  • Applicants must have an exceptional knowledge of and experience with the My Time Our Place Curriculum Framework with reference to the National Quality Framework (NQF); National Quality Standard (NQS); National Laws & Regulations and any other relevant national and state-based legislation relating to the developmental needs, interests, and abilities of all the children attending the service. 

  • Effective computer skills in childcare management systems (working knowledge of Xplor would be an advantage).

  • Experience in managing and developing a large team of staff in an outside school hours care environment or similar and a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively with others. 

  • Proven track record in managing a team to ensure effective documentation methods are developed and that children’s learning is being meaningfully recorded, including decisions around appropriate incursions and excursions. 

To be successful in this role you must also hold

  • Diploma of Children Services or Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent/higher qualification).

  • A current paid employee working with Children ‘Blue Card.’

  • Current First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management or willingness to obtain one.

  • National criminal history check.

Remuneration Hours and conditions of employment

This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week. Contact hours will be as per the service operating hours with additional hours to be worked as non-contact and negotiable between 7am and 6pm. Remuneration will be as per the P&C Award based on qualifications and experience, and for the right candidate above award remuneration will be considered. The position is a new position within our service and is available immediately.

Peace OSHC Cairns  - Service Leader - Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services

 

At Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services (QLECS) we are passionate about providing quality education and care within a Christian environment to children attending our Services throughout Queensland.

 

Peace Outside School Hours Care, located on the grounds of the Peace Lutheran College in a picturesque location in the foothills of the MacAlister Range are looking for a part time Service Leader to join the team in 2023.  We are offering rostered hours between 6.30 am - 8.30 am and 2.00 pm - 5.30 pm Monday - Friday with full days during vacation care periods. 

 

The Role

This role will oversee all areas of the Service’s operations and ensure the Service is compliant with all relevant legislation. The Service Leader is the main facilitator for building strong relationships and connections between families, the community and the Service. 

The Service Leader will be required to take on the role of Nominated Supervisor and is the leader of a team of professionals working within the Service. 

 

Selection Criteria

  • Minimum of Diploma of Children Services.

  • Previous OSHC experience preferred but not required.

  • Previous experience in a leadership and management role within the early childhood sector.

  • Current First Aid Qualifications including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.

  • Current child protection training.

  • Current Blue Card

  • Excellent knowledge of current Child Care Legislation and the National Quality Laws and Regulations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to positively, proactively and regularly engage with staff, children and families.

  • Demonstrated skills to develop a positive work culture and successful teams.

  • Demonstrated financial management and budgeting skills.

  • Sound computer skills.

  • Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Lutheran Church.

Kings Outside School Hours Care Pimpama – OSHC Coordinator

King’s Outside School Hours Care Pimpama and King’s Church Ltd is looking for an energetic and passionate professional to support the Service's Manager with the OSHC operations and ensure high quality care is provided at the service. As the Coordinator, you will be joined by a dedicated team of OSHC professionals and a supportive employer. King’s Outside School Hours Care Pimpama is on the King’s Christian College Pimpama Site. The Pimpama campus was opened in January 2015. Built on 40 acres of land in the rapidly growing northern Gold Coast region King’s Pimpama began with Early Leaning and Prep to year 3 and is growing quickly with the surrounding suburbs. King’s Pimpama currently offers Early Learning to year 10 (2022). A new grade will be added each year until Year 12 students graduate in 2024

About the Role

The Coordinator position is Full Time at 38 hours per week, including at least 10hrs per week of non-contact hours. We highly value the role of Coordinator and are looking for an experienced educator, who is passionate about management and leadership and loves to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with their team.

As the Coordinator of our service, you would be an integral part of our Leadership Team, reporting to our Service Manager and King’s Church Ltd executive team. In this role, you will be acting as the Responsible Person at times, while directly working with educators and children. 

As the Coordinator you will have key responsibilities including: 

  • High quality Educational Program and Practice delivery

  • Health and Safety systems and processes management

  • Management of the physical environment

  • Supporting and implementing effective staffing arrangements 

  • Facilitating responsive, respectful, and supportive relationships with children

Key Selection Criteria:

We are seeking children’s services, education or related professionals who have demonstrated capability and experience in:

  • Minimum one-year experience in a managerial/leadership role in an OSHC setting.

  • Ability to engage with educators in a mentoring role, providing support and guidance in a positive and constructive way.

  • An understanding of the operational requirements of an OSHC service, including ensuring health and safety, managing stakeholders, and supporting children's behaviour.

  • Effective communication and collaboration with children, families, and fellow staff members.

  • Working and functioning as an effective member of a dynamic team, including supporting team members during shifts.

 

To be successful in this role you must hold:

  • Completed or currently completing a relevant qualification, minimum of Diploma of Children's Services or qualification in a relevant field e.g., education, community services. About us

Kelvin Grove State College OSHC is seeking experienced educators. We are a large sized service which is licensed for 170 children. We provide before school care, after school care, vacation care and care on pupil free days. We aim to provide a happy, stimulating, and secure environment in which children can learn and grow according to their needs, interests, and abilities. The service encourages input and involvement when collaborating with children, families, staff, and the local community to help foster a sense of belonging for all.

 

Educator Responsibilities

  • Educating and caring for primary school aged children

  • Ensuring children are provided learning opportunities to reach their full potential following the program provided by our Educational Leader

  • Developing strong relationships with the school community

  • Ensure a clean and healthy environment for all children (this requires you to do every day cleaning as part of your duties)

  • Perform incidental administrative duties (filling out accident/incident reports when necessary)

 

Educator Requirements

  • Completed/Working towards Certificate III or studying towards Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent qualification

  • Experience in working with primary school aged children

  • Paid Blue Card or willing to obtain

  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification or willing to obtain

  • Availability in line with our operational hours

    • Before School Care: Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00am - 9.00am
