The importance of building collaborative partnerships with families is reflected under Quality Area 6 of the National Quality Standard (NQS).

Research shows children are much more likely to reach their full potential in life when their family and OSHC service work together. This is particularly important, as research tells us that children learn in the context of relationships. Strong relationships between families and OSHC services is a powerful way to improve children’s educational, health and wellbeing outcomes. We know the why of family partnerships, but sometimes the how can feel more difficult. Especially when shared understanding is lacking.
