About the Event

Theoretical Influences in OSHC

Facilitated by Rarni Rothwell

Educators practice is informed and shaped by worldviews, experiences and theoretical influences. This session provides an overview of key developmental, socio-cultural, socio-behaviourist, critical and post-structuralist theories that underpin My Time, Our Place - Framework for School Age Care in Australia and others that might impact the work we do in school age care. When understood, theoretical influences can be used to challenge educators to think deeply about their practice and how these ideas can be drawn upon to reflect on their work with children.
