About the Event
My Time, Our Place 2.0 and Sustainability- Webinar Wednesday
Facilitated by Emily McKenna
The repositioning of sustainability as a principle in My Time, Our Place 2.0 has affirmed its importance in Outside School Hours Care. OSHC services are powerfully positioned to explore and embed sustainability across their programs looking at environmental, social and economic factors. This new principle in MTOP includes exploration of the ties of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures to Country and the ways in which Traditional Owners care for and sustain the land and waterways.
Join us as we discuss how we recognise children and young people as competent problem solvers, able to engage with complex concepts and to enact and lead positive change.
This session will cover:
· Understanding environmental, social & economic sustainability
· Harnessing children and young people’s interest in supporting a fair and sustainable world
· Involving the broader community in sustainability
This session is suited to OSHC professionals at all career stages.
