Regulatory Authority Priority Series - Supporting Children and Young People's Individual Medical Needs

The Queensland Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (ECRA) is responsible for regulating the early childhood education and care sector including outside school hours care. They have a vital role in making sure children are safe and receive high-quality education and care. This series spotlights the new priority areas they announced in late 2023.

This session will focus on health and hygiene, more specifically supporting all children and young people’s individual medical needs. Under Regulation 90, approved providers must ensure that their services have a policy for dealing with medical conditions in children and young people (for example diabetes, asthma, allergy or anaphylaxis), even if they have no children or young people with a medical condition at the service.
