About the Event

Leading Reconciliation - Now More Than Ever

The changes to MTOP V2.0 have repositioned Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives several ways:

  • The first page and the acknowledgement of the “Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Lands across Australia”,
  • The Mparntwe declaration that “commits governments to ensuring children learn about the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to seeing all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people thrive in their education and every facet of life”
  • The agreement on Closing the Gap and “the importance of promoting cultural wellbeing to enable all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people to achieve their potential”.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Now More Than Ever school age care services are uniquely positioned and have an important role in leading and delivering these important outcomes and advancing Reconciliation and healing in their communities; across Australia.

Join us as we share the journey’s that some OSHC services have been on to lead reconciliation in their communities; exploring race relations, institutional integrity, equality and equity and historical acceptance.

This session is suited to OSHC professionals at all career stages.
