Are your OSHC team members adequately equiped to work with food in OSHC? Do they understand food safety, practice food hygiene or demonstrate any actual cullinary skills in the age of Uber Eats? Join us to think deeply about food and how you can intentionally mix it into your curriculum!

When children are asked to reflect on their time in OSHC they often cite the importance of food in their day-to-day experiences. This emphasis on food in OSHC is further highlighted when we consider the significant Government investment in past projects like PANOSH, that helped OSHC services meet the changing regulatory food safety requirements. Whilst food safety and nutrition are critical, there are other aspects of food that are often overlooked.
