Documenting the Framework Planning Cycle

Facilitated by Rarni Rothwell

The planning cycle in MTOP V2.0 describes the process educators follow in recording, responding to and supporting children and young people’s experiences in school age care settings. The steps, sequences and components of the planning cycle can occur instantaneously, ‘in the moment’, throughout the day, or over a period. It is important to note that documentation occurs at every stage of the planning cycle. But how do we plan to ensure this documentation is meaningful?

This session reflects on the purpose of documentation, be it observations, evaluations, critical reflections or ‘data collection’ and the variety of ways ‘thinking’ and ‘new learnings’ can be captured.

How can you ensure your thinking is shared whilst sharing the learnings of others?

How do you ensure other stakeholders hear your voice, and the unique wisdom only you can impart?
