About the Event

QCAN Training - Willing and Able – Honouring Culture in OSHC

Facilitated by Rarni Rothwell

The intent of this session is to create a safe space to question, deconstruct, share, confront and think about ways to become willing and able regarding all things culture. We will be examining all aspects of culture as they impact on our identity including race, ethnicity, religion, language, gender roles, sexuality, ability, social and economic status etc and the trappings of unquestioned, normative thinking.

We encourage all educators to attend, regardless of where you are on your journey to cultural integrity. By focusing on our attitudes, knowledges and skills with a critically reflective lense, we will come up with revised everyday practices (including learning opportunities within the curriculum) that can affirm our commitment to reconciliation with our First Nations Peoples and truly honour diversity create cultural safety for all our unique stakeholders.
