The Basics – What You Need to Know Before You Begin In OSHC – Part 1

Whether you are just starting your career in OSHC, returning after a break and looking to refresh or a service leader wanting to provide your team with a review of the basics, this is the training for you. In part 1 of the 2 part short and sharp series we cover:

  • The unique context of school age care
  • Educators as caring, professionals

                o Duty of care

                o Child protection

                o Code of conduct

                o Overcoming bias

                o Other professional guidance

  • Creating child safe environments

                o Work Health & Safety

                o Risk management

                             § Health and hygiene

                             § Safe food practices

                             § Supporting children’s individual health needs

This session is suited to OSHC professionals at foundational and developing career stages.
