About the Event
Children's Voices: A Mosaic Approach to Documentation
The Mosaic Approach (Clark & Moss, 2001), offers a multi-modal and creative framework for listening to children’s perspectives. Like a mosaic, child-directed photography, tours, maps can be paired with interviews, observation and input from parents to gain deeper understandings of children’s lives and experiences in OSHC.
This approach aligns with viewing children as competent and capable learners, with children and adults as co-constructors of meaning - developing funds of knowledge. It facilitates an inclusive approach that can combine the visual and the verbal.
Join us as we discuss:
- Introduction to the Mosaic Approach
- The Mosaic Approach data collection styles
- Mosaic Approach: A Case Study
This session is suited to OSHC professionals at all career stages.
