Educator Wellbeing - Webinar Wednesday - NEW DATE & TIME
About the Event
Facilitated by Emily McKenna
In our important work as OSHC Professionals, challenges arise that may impact upon our wellbeing. While we can’t eliminate these completely, it is important we feel part of a supportive and strong OSHC community where we can navigate these in supportive and collaborative ways.
The approved learning framework encourages us to develop programs which build children’s strong sense of wellbeing. During this webinar, we will be considering our own wellbeing and that of others within our OSHC community and seeking to understand the central role this plays in our day-to-day work.
Research supports the idea that Educators who feel a strong sense of wellbeing are in the best position to support children’s learning and development. We’re more effective Educators when we take care of ourselves and our colleagues. It makes sense that as a profession we’re so focused on wellbeing as we know it leads to staff retention, quality relationships for children and families and it even helps us meet our obligations under Quality Area 4 – focusing on staffing arrangements that enhance children’s learning and development.
Join us for this webinar where we will:
- Unpack why wellbeing is important;
- Reflect on how we can create caring environments;
- Hear from services who are on their journey to embed wellbeing initiatives into their program
