Maintaining Professional Boundaries - Webinar Wednesday

Professional Boundaries are the lines that professionals draw between professional and personal/social relationships. They help to differentiate between actions that are professionally appropriate and those that are inappropriate or unprofessional. In OSHC they acknowledge that the relationship between educators and children, young people and their families, is not one of equals – educators have power. Professional boundaries help to ensure that educators use their power fairly, without compromising the safety or wellbeing of families, children and young people.


The examples outlined in this session will assist educators in establishing and maintaining expected boundaries. They will focus on the following:
