Introduction to Executive Functioning - Webinar Wednesday
Facilitated by Emily McKenna
Each day in their OSHC work educators draw upon a specific set of skills that help them make decisions, stay on track, plan and prioritise tasks. These are called executive functioning skills and include analysing, problem solving, memory, and impulse control. Whilst it’s easy to take these skills for granted, it’s important to remember that they need to be learnt and refined; which is particularly challenging for those with executive dysfunction. Children with executive functioning difficulties will need accommodations and support for the skills they are lacking. Even if children have developed particular executive function skills, they have to be well regulated in order to access and demonstrate them.
This session will look at:
The range executive functioning skills
How regulation impacts executive functioning
