Digital Technologies in OSHC

My Time Our Place (2.0) references the use of digital technologies to enhance curiosity, excitement and motivation for learning. “Access to digital technologies and media can enable children and young people to access global connections and resources and encourage new ways of thinking and communicating”. 

Across the sector, many educators are concerned about children’s use of technology and the effects it may have. Of course, this is worth thinking about, and is dependent on how we use it. While excessive and inappropriate use of technology can have a negative impact, it also offers many possibilities for children’s wellbeing, learning and development. There are also obligations under the National Principles for Child Safe organisations, in terms of creating safe online environments.
