Repositioning of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in MTOP V2.0 - Online Workshop
Facilitated by Lainey Walker
The 2023 update to the Approved Learning Framework for School Age Care in Australia, My Time, Our Place V2.0, saw a repositioning and strengthening of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout. In addition to the new dedicated principle, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are now further embedded within the document in its entirety: the Vision, Principles, Practices and Outcomes. This strengthened focus provides a valuable opportunity to reflect upon the OSHC sector’s role in reconciliation, and the exciting potential to strengthen school age children’s understanding and value of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives.
This session will explore MTOP V2.0 changes regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, both explicit and implicit:
- The new Principle: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives
- Perspectives embedded within the Vision, Principles, Practices and Outcomes
- Implications and opportunities for future practice
This session is suited to OSHC professionals at all career stages.
