About the Event

Child Protection, Mandatory Reporting and Promoting Safe Behaviours

Facilitated by Emily McKenna

Content applies to QLD service

QCAN’s online workshop has been designed specifically for understanding child protection issues in school-age care and explores the Child Protection Act (1999) and practice frameworks that underpin QLD child protection. OSHC services are in a unique position to understand the lives and experiences of children and families through the nature of their work. As a result of this and changes to legislation all OSHC professionals are Mandatory Reporters under the Act.

The learning outcomes of this session are to understand:

• An educator’s role and responsibilities as defined by legislation
