About the Event

Anti-Bias Practice in OSHC

Facilitated by Lainey Walker

Unconscious bias has the power to negatively impact children’s sense of identity and belonging within our services. It’s not a matter of whether we have bias, but rather how can we recognise and challenge our unconscious biases to ensure equity for all. In today’s session we will explore anti-bias practice and how it can be utilised in OSHC. We’ll also explore four examples of bias within Education and Care:

• racial bias

• gender bias

• disability bias
