Planning, Implementing and Evaluating Experiences | Cycle of Planning Part 1  - Identify and Plan

Facilitated by Emily McKenna

For some time, it was common practice for educators to decide what was in children’s best interests when planning children’s play in OSHC. The problem with this approach is that adults don’t always know what children would like to do in their leisure time.

During this workshop we will unpack the first half of the planning cycle looking at:

- Gathering Information: Strategies for creating a “collage” where educators take different types of information from a range of sources to construct a picture of what is important to children.

- Analysing Learning: Making sense of what learning, and development is taking place in the observations. “What does this information tell me about what and how children are learning?”
