Facilitating collaborative partnerships between the OSHC service and the school

Partnerships are an important vehicle for bringing together skills and resources to promote children’s learning, wellbeing and development. School and OSHC partnerships can have a significant impact on outcomes for children through making the best use of the school’s and OSHC service’s complementary resources and practices. Collaborations, joint resourcing and shared curriculum and programs can also have a positive impact.

For partnerships to be successful they must have a clear purpose, add value to the work of the partners, and be carefully planned and monitored.

This session is designed to support OSHC services to:

• develop a clearer understanding of the range of opportunities for collaborations
• reflect on the existing partnership
• focus on ways to establish or strengthen the existing partnership through the framework of quality improvement
