About the Event
Regulatory Authority Priority Series - Avoiding Spot Check Shock
Facilitated by Lainey Walker
The Queensland Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (ECRA) is responsible for regulating the early childhood education and care sector including outside school hours care. They have a vital role in making sure children are safe and receive high-quality education and care. This series focuses on the new priority areas they announced in late 2023.
OSHC Coordinators are also integral to the operation of quality outside school hours care services and ensuring compliance under the National Law and National Regulations.
- Avoiding Spot Check Shock will explore:
- Regulatory authority monitoring, compliance and enforcement
- Authorised officer procedures
- Proactive processes that support year-round readiness
- Preparing your team - do your Responsible Persons know what to do if you aren’t there during a spot check?
- Coordinator conversations: participants share struggles and strategies
This session is suitable for proficient educators looking to progress into the lead career stage as a service coordinator, or current coordinators wanting to ensure compliance within their organisation – particularly if they are new to their OSHC community or approved provider structure.
