A 105 place before/after and vacation care service in Corinda is seeking a qualified and experienced childcare worker to assume the role of Coordinator/Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations and legislative requirements (including staff rosters, enrolments, attendance, fees), as well as continuously improving the programs to reflect the interests and abilities of the children, and assisting staff with their skill development.

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Childrens services or equivalent, have experience with 5-12 year olds, possess excellent communication skills and an abundance of enthusiasm. A good knowledge of Qikkids program would be highly regarded.

St Williams OSHC requires an Assistant Coordinator

This leadership position covers a combination of hands-on contact work with the children, complemented by non-contact administrative tasks.

This service is unique as it is operated as a split program. This enables children in the Junior Age Group (Prep-Grade2) and the Senior Age Group (Grade 3-7) to be catered for in seperate areas with different age-appropriate games and activities for each group. This position would involve managing one of these rooms, as well as undertaking other tasks as required by the Coordinator.

An ability to manage staff whilst at the same time working as part of a cohesive team is a necessity. This role requires someone with qualifications in the Education or Childcare field, or other relevant area. Experience in working in a school aged care setting is desirable. Must be responsible and mature and love working with children.

Essentially - must be committed to making a difference in the lives of children.

Role involves - 30 hours per week, flexible. Casual or Part-time.

Must have - Blue Card, First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain), experience and relevant qualifications.

Weir P & C Outside School Hours Care requires an Assistant Coordinator

Duties

Undertake all duties of an assistant and in consultation with the Coordinator prepare, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate programmes for individual children or groups of children in care. Supervise staff and ensure staff members fulfil their various duties and responsibilities and ensure a safe enviroment is maintained for both children and staff. Ensure records are maintained accurately for each child in care and that services policies and procedures are adhered to. Liase as need be with members of a child's family and administer first aid to the level of their competency when appropriate. Duties are not limited to the above. The Assistant Coordinator may be required at times to assume the Coordinators role in the absence of the Coordinator. 

Requirements

Diploma applying to childcare workers, Diploma in Community Services or 2 years qualification in early childhood studies. Other qualifications that relate to childcare and can meet licensing requirements will be considered. Current Child Protection Blue Card and current Senior First  Aid and CPR certificate essential. Qikkids program and MYOB skill is advantageous.

Casual Group Assistants

The successful candidates would have a passion for childcare as part of the dynamics of the school community and work closely with the Coordinators. a Certificate III in Childcare or higher or similar qualifications would be desirable.
