Director - Redeemer OSHC - Permanent Full Time

Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking an experienced OSHC Director to commence 16 November 2020.

Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking an experienced Director to lead our successful Outside School Hours Care Centre.  The Centre is part of our P-12 College. This full time position includes before school care, after school care and vacation care.  Rostered hours are between 6.00am and 6.00pm, split shifts may be required from time to time.

You must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A minimum 3-5 year experience as either a Director or similar role;

  • A minimum Diploma in Children’s Services.  Whilst not essential, a BEd (Primary or Early Childhood);

  • Knowledge of both My Time Our Place and National Quality Standards;

  • Xplore experience would be highly regarded;

  • Current First Aid (in Children’s Services);

  • Food Safety, Handling and Hygiene training would be highly regarded;

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken);

  • Actively support the Christian values and ethos of the College.

As the Director you will be responsible for the smooth running of the Centre.

 

Yours duties will included but not limited to the following: 

  • Be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of OSHC in accordance with the policies of the college;

  • Liaising with Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services as well as Government departments;

  • Promote the mission and program of the college;

  • Plan and implement a balanced program of activities appropriate to the needs of the children in the program, including children with special needs;

  • Maintain the centre in an orderly and safe condition at all times and be responsible for workplace health and safety within the centre;

  • Managing the staffing rosters of the centre;

  • Ensuring compliance with government and industry regulations and requirements and assist the College in completing forms and returns as required;

  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget;

Our Bellmere Service is licenced to care for up to 90 children and as the Educational Leader you will be managing the operations of the service while building trusting partnerships with all educators, families, children and the community.  You will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the daily routines, menus and programs ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of the children in our care.  This is a permanent role with a minimum of 35 hours and potentially up to 38 hours per week, with us offering an experienced candidate well above award salary.

 

To be successful, you will need

  • Proven leadership in OSHC or Childcare industry to support a team of passionate educators with an emphasis on collaboration, communication, empowerment and engagement

  • Capacity and willingness to consent to and fulfil the obligations of a Nominated Supervisor including ensuring children’s health and hygiene, safety and wellbeing, risk management.

  • Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of programs for children aged 4 to 12 years within an education and care or recreational setting.

  • Programming /educational leadership experience and an understanding of the National Quality Framework

The Coomera Rivers State School P&C Association is seeking a full-time OSHC Director to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of their Outside School Hours Care (OSHC).

 

The Director will have the opportunity to lead quality education and care in a growing and dynamic service. The P&C are seeking someone with sound organisational and management ability, ideally with robust experience in a school age care environment.   • A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively facilitate teamwork, conflict resolution and support the development of others

Kelvin Grove OSHC - Coordinator (Maternity Leave Contract)

The Kelvin Grove State College P&C Association is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Coordinator to join and lead their OSHC service including before, after and vacation care. The Service is currently licensed for 170 children and has a large team of approximately 30 educators.   • Diploma of Children Services or Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent/higher qualification)

  • A current Working with Children ‘Blue Card’

  • HLTAID004 ‘Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting’ certification

 

Hours/Conditions/Award

This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week. Contact hours will be as per the service operating hours with additional hours to be worked as non-contact and negotiable between 7am and 6pm. Remuneration will be as per the P&C Award based on qualifications and experience.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Building and maintaining supportive and trusting relationships with children and families

  • Strong business management, accountability, finance and compliance capability

  • Effective leadership, teamwork facilitation, staff management/development and stakeholder engagement

  • Highly skilled in communication, conflict resolution and change management

  • Supporting the Educational Leader, and educators in the oversight of program planning including design, delivery and evaluation.

  • Supporting the Coordinator in the day to day running of the service.
